What was the Tiny Store and Who Operated it?
The Tiny Store was a small ‘niche oriented’ retail, rental & service business that existed for 18 years and finally sold in the fall of 2001, right after 911. It was a family run operation located in the Puget Sound region of Washington State that eventually got to the point of producing hundreds of dollars per square feet in sales. The Tiny Store was in business before and during the early Internet, and Google, and before the onslaught of social media.

It took years of trial and error, with lots of success and heartaches, but the people who ran The Tiny Store were able to do and achieve so much, while their competitors sat idly by and watched. Manufacturers and distributors attempted to find out how they did it. But none of the information was ever shared or distributed until the former GM decided to finally bring forth “The Secrets of The Tiny Store™” in this updated book.

Note: As you read “Secrets of the Tiny Store” you’ll find that there’s no BDS (bologna
disguised as salami), just straight talk.

A Message from the Author
Back in 2012 to 2014 I published Secrets of the Tiny Store™ in PDF digital format alongside a manual for small business owners and those entrepreneurs just getting started. It was my first go at writing a book and since then I published 30 Years into Six “A Marketer’s Journey through the Small Business Jungle”, available in print on Amazon.

Now over a decade later I’ve updated and re-published “Secrets of the Tiny Store” in paperback and
Kindle, plus it will be available on Audible spring 2025.

For the first time since the store was wrapped up and sold in the fall of 2001 I’m releasing what we did and have included what’s worked over the years as the Internet and small business have gone through so many changes. It’s been a journey of ups and downs, peaks and valleys. You could say we’ve been on a roller coaster for months and even a few periods that spanned over 24 months.

For over 40 years I’ve worked with and engaged with small business owners from every walk of life. And since the sale of the Tiny Store I’ve experienced the world of small business through the lens of a general manager, cinematographer, director, writer, author, consultant, producer, and manufacturer’s representative. Yeh, I know, it’s a really odd mix, but it’s the two paths I chose to take.

Maybe your small business journey is just getting started and you’re searching while putting the pieces of the business puzzle together? Maybe your journey has been one of success but you’ve plateaued? Maybe you’ve been struggling in your business trying to figure out the online world, video and how you can drive sales offline? It could even be that you are related to or know someone that operates a small business and you know that they are struggling or working tirelessly 6 to 7 days a week with little time to relax.

Wherever you are at, I hope and pray that you can take away at least one or two nuggets and
implement them into your venture.

“In a world where anyone can publish a book or a course sharing business growth hacks and shortcuts, it’s rare to find one that talks about the specific strategies that work. Dave Krygier keeps it short and simple as he shares what has worked for his businesses, what mistakes to avoid, and what steps led to success. It’s not another workbook; this is a heart-to-heart from one business owner to another. If you’ve ever wanted to ask a successful business owner, “What did you do to grow your business,” this book is worth the time it will take to read.”

This book does a deep dive into managing a small family owned business, while always trying to shape and mold the business into the best version of itself. Dave has a vast amount of
experience in many fields, and his book will make you a strong believer in the power of creative thinking and always placing the customer first.”
